Hi, everyone. This is only related to Andy Kaufman in spirit (or maybe more to Tom Green). Someone prank called me a little while ago. It was pretty lame. They exchanged 'hellos' with me a couple of times and then threw a 'yer mama' at me, at which point I hung up. It might have been the start of one of those calls where you get pranked by someone just playing sound bites from movies, but I didn't bite long enough to know for sure. Anyway, they didn't block their number, so after getting it from star-69, I attempted to use a reverse phone listing search to identify the little bugger's name and address, but the number wasn't listed. Then I figured I could always (anonymously) prank them back, but then I had a better idea. Hit the internet, and appeal to any of you troublemakers out there to prank them as well. See, you'd be making a prank call to a deserving victim, instead of some scared innocent old lady. I'm hoping that I can spread this message far and wide enough, so that eventually, their phone won't stop ringing. Please do what you can. Here are some suggestions: Say something like "What about my mama?" so they know why they're being punished. Call them late at night, so their whole family can benefit (they live in the Eastern time zone). If you live outside the area, and don't want to rack up charges, make collect calls to them from pay phones. Use common names like 'John' or 'Dad', or even more interestingly 'the Human Resources department' - be creative. Get ideas from 'Crank Yankers', The Jerky Boys, and the Touchtone Terrorists. Just be sure you stay anonymous, as they must be rendered defenseless. Their phone number is (201)385-7880. And if prank-calling isn't your thing, maybe you could just forward this to the more mischievious types in your address book. Thanks for any help.

And I need the help of someone with great influence over people and the resources to convince people they can protect there property. I am not trying to get a hand out, but perhaps some kind of business venture where we both can make money. I have been interested in vehicle security since 1997. I get sick when I hear of peoples property stolen , damaged , and even lives lost from such a preventable problem as car theft. I have looked at many vehicle security devices and there weakness, and endeavored to build a device that is easy to install and also user friendly, and very difficult to remove. I have built prototypes, and have used one on my vehicle for three years even in big cities, and always felt comfortable that my car would always be there where I parked it. I also installed one on an old truck in an auto wreaker and it took three big men 4min. 56 seconds to remove it, only by braking the floorboard because of too ridged a base. This has since been redesigned to be flexible. It was encouraging to see one person could not remove it. It is loose enough installed, that it cannot be cut with a hacksaw, since it is made with good strong steel. The lock cannot be frozen because it is incased with steel and a small air space. These men ! tried with hammers and feet to remove it and only exhausted themselves. Since joy rides and theft of vehicles for the purpose of committing a crime are the main reasons for general auto theft, I know this will be a very good and secure type of vehicle theft deterrent. I have a U.S. patent and applied for an international patent with the help of a company in Ireland, who have done up for me a confidential research report, on North America, and Europe and are at this time trying to find manufactures all around the world that would be interested in building this device that I call "Brake Lock. There is some simple electronics that serve as a trade mark, as well as takes care of the brake light problem. I recently have had interest from England and Illinois and hope to get a positive response from them. Auto theft is a huge problem everywhere. I know it will make a difference. But it will only make a difference if people will use it. I have to admit, Andy is the reason I perform. I lived in my own reality and just wanted to share it, but was scared. Andy showed me that it's ok to be scared, but that shouldn't stop you. failure is ok, as long as you try. I understand Andy alot, maybe more then Bob did. I can seriously relate. People try hard to understand Andy, they make it so difficult. It's simple, then again maybe it's not. Peter Pan once said "Grown ups don't understand kids". It's no surprise the grownups don't understand him. Andy was a kid in an adults body, and much like a kid he was interested in one thing....fun and attention. Andy wasn't afraid to be a kid, thats what confused people. They keep there true selves locked away. Andy didn't. Just watch his Howdy Doody interview. Andy was 6 years old again. Just look at his eyes when he talks to Howdy, you can tell he doesn't see a doll, he see's a real living thing. I'm a child at heart, and I'm not afraid to be so, thanks to Andy. Andy once said "People take themselves to seriously". Thats the truth. The world is based around fashion and whats in. Andy rose above that, and walked his own path, this confused people. Much like Jesus confused people when he walked around preaching. Not that I'm comparing the almighty and Andy, but you get the point. Andy was one of a kind, he set the standard in entertainment. Andy Kaufman was a very special inspiration to everyone, including me. There isn't much I can say about him. Noone can say much about him. He can't be explained. I guess he was too special. I love reading about him and I wish that I could find books about him. I heard about the book Bob Zmuda wrote about him and I hope I can find it. Andy not only inspired the world to reveal their TRUE emotions, but to love. Just to see how much Bob Zmuda did for his friend makes me so happy. They were such good friends that to this day he is still writing stuff for Andy. I know that if I was alive when Andy was around I would appriciate all the things he did and understand them. I understand everything he did for the world. He tried to get them to show emotions. True emotions. Not dramatic soap opera stuff. He loved observing people and their emotions. And that makes him a good "song and dance man" I may not have been around when he was,(I was born in 1986), but reading about all the stuff he did inspires me even more to be a entertainer, or a "song and dance girl" Love ya' Andy and Bob!

I think that the greatest misconceptions about Andy, is that he was crazy. I think Andy was the most sane human I've ever seen. Andy wasn't afraid to do things, he wasn't afraid to be Andy. When people reveal themselves in whole it's often thought odd, crazy. Most people wear mask, but Andy took his off. Andy chose long ago what he wanted to do, and he did it. He made a career out of Hoax's. Andy Warhole, the late artist, once said "It's art because I say it is!". Andy Kaufmans life was that very statement. Tom Green is often getting recognition as the next Andy. Tom is a great Performance Artist, Andy would probably get a kick out of him. However he can never be the next Andy, no one can fill his shoes. He was the first and the best. Like John Lennon, Elvis Presley and many other ground breakers. I hope he is still alive, the world needs him more then ever, it has become so one sighted. Bob Zmuda was doing a book signing for Andy Revealed, when a clown came in and danced around, the clown bothered bob so he had him removed. Bob later said something about hsi eyes bothered me. That was all he said. In Bobs book he states the one thing he will never forget about Andy is his eyes. Letterman said the same thing. Just a little agit for the never believer.....

I am glad I saw Man on the Moon because it helped me to realize that Andy was a real person under all the goofiness. I wouldn't call him a genius, I'd just call him a real person trying to show the world how dumb they can be. I like that in a person! As a kid watching SNL, I fell in love with Andy Kaufman's weird acts...Mighty Mouse STILL cracks me up beyond belief, and DON'T get me recalling "I go mad, simply mad, for a yodel"!!!!! I'm in Amsterdam, and the movie hasn't made it here yet - but when it does....! We all were very blessed to have a lot of recorded memories of Andy, I wish he hadn't been so plagued with doubts and misunderstandings in his lifetime. Hey....What is all this crap I hear about Andy Kaufman? That guy was ridin' my coattails the whole way, and he couldn't keep up with me! If I hear one more person say that I was him, I'm gonna explode! That jerk couldn't get laid if his life depended on it! He can't sing, he can't dance, and he can't entertain the folks and all he did was throw my name around like it was a big old game HUH? Well, don't even bother to Watch the movie, because that Jim Carrey is just just just tryin' to cop out the same way. You know who I am! I'm the greatest lounge singer of all time, and that damn Kaufman met the reaper, Who's playin' who now?

andy kaufman was hte pinical of the "wacky preformer" he was the 1970's Tom Green, he was simply a genius and misunderstood man. He always said that he would fake his death and come back to the world when he was fifty. Well folks hes fifty NOW!

I saw Man on the Moon last night. I found that Jim Carrey portrayed Andy Kaufman almost as well as Andy Kaufman portrayed Tony Clifton. Andy was, is and will always be one of the entertainment industry's best, regardless if he is alive or not (I think he is alive). I wouldn't be surprised if it was Andy playing Tony Clifton on the movie, but I don't think Andy would ruine the prank just yet. Andy if you're out there...just letting you know...that we're in deep need of a great "song & dance" guy!!!!!! I love you Andy

Hi my name is fred hartsook. Andy Kaufman was/is the man. Man on the Moon was a great tribute to one of the most brilliant entertainers ever to see the light of day. Jim Carrey and Robin Williams, along with millions of other actors, have said that Andy was of tremendous influence. That says something, right there. In my work as an entertainer, I always think of Andy when I am playing a character. This site is good.

I have always liked Andy Kaufman. His weirdness was what made him special. He kept everyone on their toes as to what was reality. I loved that. So he was a little unbalanced. So what. I love Tony clifton...... here is what i think... in the new movie MAN ON THE MOON, when it showed the cast it said that Tony clifton played as himself in the movie. To be honest, when I first saw Andy Kaufman on Saturday Night Live, I thought it was stupid. But, because I believe that Jim Carrey is one of the most underated actors out there, I went to see the movie opening day. I have a new found respect for Andy and what he did. Even if he wasn't the funniest man alive, he was the greatest entertainer and publicist ever "created." I saw the movie again yesterday and found new things about it to love. Although I don't believe the "Andy is alive" hype, I wish it was true and I was half expecting him to appear at the end of the movie in the place of Jim. My predictions: Best movie, Best Director (Milos Forman), Best Actor (Jim Carrey), Best Supporting Actor (Danny DeVito), Best Supporting Actres nominee (Courtney Love), and best movie Score (R.E.M.). Get the soundtrack, see the movie. You won't be let down.

He was one of the best performers of our time, he always kept us thinking, and laughing the new movie man on the moon was great and Andy seemed like a good person to be around when you were feeling down. Andy always was an inspiration to me. I used to watch him on Taxi repeats as a kid, and thought he was so awesome. Then as I saw his SNL and other comedy shows he did, I knew he was an insane genious. He was so smart, yet crazy. Thats Andy in a nutshell to me. And being a wrestling fan, well, he is the inter-gender fed, lets leave it at that. :) If I could say one thing to Andy I'd tell him how he has changed my life, and how greatly he influenced me. Then after shaking his hand I'm sure he'd look at me with his big full, yet empty eyes, and say "Tenk you veddy much." Rest in peace Andy, or if you really are still out there, thanks.

I have taken liking to Andy recently. I have done much reading about him and I have begun to really like him. He was a great man, he made us all laugh with his antics. He could make anyone smile. It was such a tragedy that he died at such and early age. Andy will always live on in me. He is the greatest role model I could ask for.

he is one of the most creative human beings that ever took place on this planet. he took his artistic performance farther than anybody else in the comedy world. but whats amazing is that he wasnt a comedian who told jokes with a punch line. he was funny for being a song and dance man and a performance artist, never telling jokes for a laugh but for a reaction. he was more interested in seeing people thru the eyes and what they thought of him rather then thinking ,"well i got thru that act and i got an applause so thats it for me i'm funny and i feel larger than life right now". he interacted with the audience as if he was a teacher in a classroom telling kids what to do and going thru lesson bye lesson with his acts until it was time to go home and afterwards if some wanted more from him he would give them more and more....and more. -lara Weiant

Andy Kaufman inspires me everyday to go out and challenge the norm. He was the greatest performer ever to grace the audience with his presence and I only wish that I had been alive to witness more of his antics and possibly meet him before his untimely death. Andy Kaufman was the most original human being of our time and there will never be another. Comedy would not be anything today without the influence of Andy Kaufman.
